Rough Conditions Bring Precious Gifts

1image

Nature is an incredible teacher. Life is run by Nature's Rules. So it only makes sense to observe how nature works to really get how life works.

This morning I observed something fascinating. The rains of last night in Arizona caused some miracles.  The collection of cacti in the garden morphed into a stunning array of flowers. The takeaway: rough conditions can bring precious gifts.   Hundred of frogs mysteriously appeared in an overflowing pond that had been dry for months.  They appeared for one day to mate and had been surviving underground just waiting for this one opportunity.  The takeaway: Accumulated focused energy creates the conditions for miracles to occur.

Life can be hard. We all have our good seasons as well as our difficult ones. But hard times also bring many blessings. Like strength of character, self-knowledge, courage, greater understanding and deeper compassion. We grow the most as human beings during our roughest times. So why do we judge them as bad - when they bring such good? The challenging pieces of our lives just might be when we are most alive. And they always bring tiny miracles. If you are awake to them.

True Healing by Louise Hay

3image

True healing involves body, mind, and spirit. I believe that if we "cure" an illness yet do not address the emotional and spiritual issues that surround that ailment, it will only manifest again.

Exercise: Releasing Your Health Problems

Are you willing to release the need that has contributed to your health problems? Once again, when you have a condition that you want to change the first thing that you have to do is say so. Say: "I am willing to release the need in me that has created this condition." Say it again. Say it looking in the mirror. Say it every time you think about your condition. It's the first step in creating a change. Now, do the
following:

List all of your mother's illnesses.
List all of your father's illnesses.
List all of your illnesses.
Do you see a connection?

Exercise: Health and Dis-ease

Let's examine some of your beliefs about health and dis-ease. Answer the following questions. Be as open and honest as you can.
What do you remember about your childhood illnesses?
What did you learn from your parents about illness?
What, if anything, did you enjoy about being sick as a child?
Is there a belief about illness from your childhood that you're still acting on today?
How have you contributed to the state of your health?
Would you like your health to change? If so, in what way?

Exercise: Your Beliefs about Sickness

Complete the following statements as honestly as you can.

The way I make myself sick is . . .
I get sick when I try to avoid . . .
When I get sick, I always want to . . .
When I was sick as a child, my mother always . . .
My greatest fear when I'm sick is that . . .

Exercise: The Power of Affirmations

Let's discover the power of written affirmations! Writing an affirmation can intensify its power. Write a positive affirmation about your health 25 times. You may create your own, or use one of the following:

My healing is already in process.
I listen with love to my body's messages.
My health is radiant, vibrant, and dynamic now.
I am grateful for my perfect health.
I deserve good health.

Exercise: Self-Worth

Let's examine the issue of self-worth with respect to your health. Answer the following questions, then create a positive affirmation to counter each one if your response was a negative one.

Do I deserve good health?
Sample Answer: No. Illness runs in my family.
Sample Affirmation: I accept and deserve perfect health now.
What do I fear most about my health?
Sample Answer: I'm afraid that I'll get sick and die.
Sample Affirmation: It is safe to be well now. I am always loved.
What am I "getting" from this belief?
Sample Answer: I don't have to be responsible or go to work.
Sample Affirmation: I am confident and secure. Life is easy for me.
What do I fear will happen if I let go of this belief?
Sample Answer: I'll have to grow up.
Sample Affirmation: It is safe for me to be an adult.

Health Affirmations

Make these affirmations part of your daily routine. Say them often in the car, at work, while looking in the mirror, or anytime you feel your negative beliefs surfacing.

I get three colds every year.
I am safe and secure at all times. Love surrounds me and protects me.

My energy level is low.
I am filled with energy and enthusiasm.

I heal slowly.
My body heals rapidly.

My allergies act up constantly.
My world is safe. I am safe. I am at peace with all of Life.

Heart dis-ease runs in my family.
I am not my parents. I am healthy and whole and filled with joy.

I get one illness after another.
Good health is mine now. I release the past.

My back gives me constant pain.
Life loves and supports me. I am safe.

These headaches never go away.
I no longer criticize myself; my mind is at peace, and all is well.

I'm always constipated.
I allow life to flow through me.

I have sore feet.
I am willing to move forward with ease.

I'm always hurting my body.
I am gentle with my body. I love myself.

"I give myself permission to be well."

Health Treatment

I am one with Life, and all of Life loves me and supports me. Therefore, I claim for myself perfect, vibrant health at all times. My body knows how to be healthy, and I cooperate by feeding it healthy foods and beverages, and exercising in ways that are enjoyable to me. My body loves me, and I love and cherish my precious body. I am not my parents, nor do I choose to re-create their illnesses. I am my own unique self; and I move through life healthy, happy, and whole. This is the truth of my being, and I accept it as so. All is well in my body.

The Vision Alignment Project

               A Vision for Heroes

We see a world where our heroes and heroines are everywhere; where they are everyday people who are kind and caring for one another; where they are honored, celebrated, and chosen to positions of leadership because they are gentle, helpful, resourceful, caring, kind, and forgiving.

We see our heroes and heroines in the movies being the ones who have put away their weapons and set examples for our youth by being compassionate, courageous, and creative; where our inventors and artists are using their talents to help bring humanity into its highest calling; where our spiritual leaders are enlightened, awakened, and truly lined up with the Highest Good.

And we envision all people, everywhere, seeing themselves as a hero or heroine to their family and friends because they show up, make themselves available, and help others whenever and wherever they are needed.

How to Evolve

5image

                Step One

Love and respect yourself. Whitney Houston doesn't call it the "greatest love of all" for nothing.  Stop putting your valuable energy and worry about what others say or think about you. You are an individual born unto this world and you have every bit as much right to live, breathe and exist as anyone or anything else. You have the absolute same intrinsic value as every other organism. Recognize that this means you are a valuable piece of the cosmic puzzle. Without your energy, this world would cease to exist. Go ahead and marinate on that one for a minute or two.

Step Two

Drop your defenses and witness your innate drive to compete. While it's true that competition may have some positive effects on your life, insofar as it allows you to overcome primal obstacles, too much
competition reflects an over-valuing of the ego and excessive concern with power. Consistent defensiveness, similarly, represents insecurity and a tendency toward justifying your position.  You do not need not rationalize your worth and dedicate yourself to beating your opponent. After all, you cannot destroy or create matter, whether spiritual, emotional or physical, and therefore, winning is a relative term created to boost a fragile psyche. Enjoy yourself and inspire yourself to achieve whatever it is that you want just for the experience of your souls growth.

Step Three

Ask lots of questions. The act of questioning is the root of philosophy.  Philosophy lies at the foundation of humankind's never-ceasing drive to better understand itself, its condition and its role in the grand scheme.  Joseph Campbell said "Nothing is exciting if you already know the outcome." You may find that curiosity and a thirst to continually ask BIG questions will fuel your sense of wonder and add value to everything you do.

Step Four

Keep your mind active and enjoy your body.   Cherish your brain. Stimulate it. Enjoy your body. Your body is the greatest tool you have in hard reality.  It is your outlet for action in this plane of existence. Treat it with respect, but experiment with it. Do not listen to others who attempt to dictate how your body should or should not be utilized. Instead, trust your own level of comfort and health, and be aware that, for now, this is the only body you have. It is your vessel. Pilot it with passion and love.

  Step Five

Be kind. According to the Dalai Lama, kindness is in many ways an important key to spiritual enlightenment. One of the many Lamas was quoted thus: "This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.  I'd like to think it reflects the notion of treating everything with respect, kindness and compassion. Sure, mistakes will be made, tempers will flare. You are bound to lose your cool and mistreat someone or something at some point. But you can overcome this. Please, if you do anything in these steps, forget and forgive so that kindness is readily available as your first option.

Step Six

Recognize the interrelatedness of all things.  Energy is connected in some way.  Open your mind to the possibility that we are all connected in some way.

Step Seven

Let it be. Really, it's that easy. Allow yourself to accept that nothing is truly under your control. Sure, you can make decisions on a daily basis that will affect your happiness level.  But there are an infinite number of factors playing on everything at all times for which you can never compensate. And that is okay. Love yourself, love your neighbor.

Step Eight

Appreciate nature. Immerse yourself in the natural world as often as possible. Our disassociation with nature is the root of many of the challenges we are experiencing in our personal lives as well as on a global level.   We have paid a huge price for our technology, the disconnection to our soul.  A simple walk in nature can restore your wellbeing and reboot your intuition.  One of your most precious assets!

Book Of The Month
Liespotting
Proven Techniques To Detect Deception”
By Pamela Meyer

6image

Get to the Truth!

Each day we are bombarded, not just with social white lies, but with overblown ads, ridiculous sales pitches, misleading work emails--so do we have the right to wear an armor of deception as well?  People,
friends, family members, work colleagues, salespeople--lie to us all the time.  Daily, hourly, constantly. None of us is immune, and all of us are victims. According to studies by several different researchers, most of us encounter nearly 200 lies a day.  Now there’s something we can do about it.  Liespotting links three disciplines--facial recognition training, interrogation training, and a comprehensive survey of research in the field--into a specialized body of information developed specifically to help business leaders detect deception and get the information they need to successfully conduct their most important interactions and transactions.

Some of the nation's leading business executives have learned to use these methods to root out lies in high stakes situations. Liespotting for the first time brings years of knowledge--previously found only in the intelligence community, police training academies, and universities--into the corporate boardroom, the manager's meeting, the job interview, the legal proceeding, and the deal negotiation.  A complete revelation. Meyer presents the most comprehensive guide to the science of deception I have ever encountered.

Pamela distills lie-spotting techniques to their most practical, their least intrusive. I felt as though I had been given social and professional x-ray specs, but no one will know I am wearing them.  Reading the book was regularly eye-opening, occasionally quite humbling. Liespotting covers "tells" within body language and the feast of red flags within the human face; later it moves onto extensive negotiation techniques, for the business owners, as well as methods of "deception auditing" a company. For example, say you suspect an employee is lying: Never ask this employee "why" he/she did something, as it's an invitation for a subject to shut down. This kind of advice was among several compelling elements to this novel. Deception may be everywhere, but it's not an overpowering evil--it can be attributed to aspects of human psychology, it can be torn down, making it manageable for someone in the know.  Overall, a totally fantastic read

Movie Of The Month
Collapse
7image

This riveting documentary by investigative journalist Michael Ruppert details his unnerving theories about the inexorable link between energy depletion and the collapse of the economic system that supports the entire industrial world.  A haunting vision of our future in the face of Peak Oil and Societal collapse... And a pitch perfect character study of a charismatic, troubled, truth seeker.   Mike Ruppert has been so accurate with his predictions about where both our world and our economy have been headed, and we're right now in the middle of everything he's been predicting. With our current energy problem it's not easy getting out of this recession (or depression), and things look like they'll be getting much worse than they are right now. What I love about this movie is its directness in telling us why the economy and the world are in the condition they're in right now, and what the underlying reasons are that are really causing all of this. While our news is telling us that the recession is behind us, and that we may experience a "double dip" recession ahead of us, this movie just shoots it straight and tells us the truth about what's really going on in our world right now. Unforgettable and completely riveting documentary with the potential to change and open minds --- yet fully engrossing and entertaining. A must see, Riveting as hell, the real deal and definitely on my best list. Available on Netflix.
